Hi, I'm Annabelle Stewart

Founder of Auralis Music Academy, Music Education Specialist, Conductor & Musician

How We Got Started

Music has been a large part of Annabelle’s life for as long as she can remember, but finding her place within it took time. Like many young musicians, Annabelle tried a varity of instruments from violin, guitar, piano and singing before discovering the one which truly ignited her passion, the trumpet. Learning along the way that success in music is rarely just skill. Encouragement, support, opportunity, and having people who believe in you is vital.

“I was fortuate to be surrounded by wonderful teachers and mentors who invested their time and energy to both encourage and challenge me, opening doors that helped me grow as both a musician and a person. These experiences have inspired my approach as an educator to ensure every student feels supported, valued and capable of achieving more than they thought possible.”

Auralis Music Academy was created from a simple belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn an instrument and access high quality music education in an environment where each student feels supported, challenged and valued.

What began as one teacher working with local students has evolved into a growing team of music educators who are dedicated to creating meaningful musical opportunites.

Over the past decade Annabelle has taught hundreds of students across more than ten schools throughout the Bay of Plenty through private tuition, Ministry funded instrumental programmes, youth ensembles and community organisations.

Beyond the academy, Annabelle founded the Bay of Plenty’s first youth focused brass band, acts as the Assistant Conductor of Youth Philharmonic Tauranga, and remains actively involved in creating opportunities for young musicians throughout our region.

While the team is expanding, the misson remains the same; to inpsire a lifelong love of music through exceptional teaching, meaningful opportunities and a genuine care for every student.
